Polysaccharide is a generic name for long chains of monosaccharides like glucose. These are very common in nature and they are regularly eaten and used as raw materials in our daily lives. By refining, sterilizing, altering and processing natural polysaccharides with our own unique methods, we create products with a variety of functional properties. We offer products for a wide variety of uses, from food to industry, to customers both domestically and abroad.

We handle the thickening stabilizer used in a variety of processed foods like sauces, salad dressings, and ice creams, as well as the dietary fiber material used in the health food field.

We etherify and esterify starch from corn and offer it as modified starch for use in industrial binder (binding agents for glass fiber).

Shikibo Sakai Ltd. (Sakai City, Osaka), a 100% subsidiary of SHIKIBO LTD., conducts both production and research and development. In 2016, the company received the FSSC22000 (Food-Safety-System-Certification 22000) food safety system international standard.

Psyllium Seed Gum
Psyllium seed gum uses the polysaccharide taken from the outer seed shell of the blond psyllium (Plantago ovate Forssk.) of the Indian plantain family as the main ingredient.
As psyllium seed gum is rich in dietary fiber, it regulates the function of the intestine and has been used in the health food field for many years.

We reduce the odorous components of things like the guar gum (polysaccharide) taken from the seeds of Leguminosae Guar plants raised in India and Pakistan using our own unique techniques and sell them as deodorizers.
Modified Starch
We sell modified starch like altered hydroxypropyl starch and acetate starch under the HAS-Bindy brand.
